Come installare Windows Media Center in Windows 10 in italiano 32 bit e 64 bit

The decision is a disappointment to the small but incredibly vocal army of Media Center enthusiasts, who had held out hope that a Windows 10 Media Center add-on, similar to the one offered for Windows 8, might appear at the last minute.

That's not happening. Any PC that is upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 will lose the Media Center functionality, and there's no way to get it back.

Update May 4. Microsoft's Gabe Aul has confirmed the news on Twitter:

Windows Media Center is an application for playing music or movies, watching live TV (when used on a computer with a TV tuner), or displaying photos. What makes it different from Windows Media Player, VLC, or other media players is that while you can run it in a small window, Windows Media Center is designed to run full-screen and give your computer an appliance-like user interface that can be easily navigated with a remote control while you sit on the couch.

Basically it turns your PC into a TiVo.

This is the original post but it no longer works:

Well we now have someone new for the title of Carnac the Magnificent because today Microsoft confirmed what Rod prognosticated a couple of weeks ago.

plex-overview

Plex is a media server which delivers media stored locally, externally, or attached to your home network, to a client app. Internet Explorer is the server’s user interface, where channels can be added (such as Soundcloud and Vimeo), and your library managed. To enjoy your media, you can use mobile and desktop apps, perhaps streaming films and TV to your TV using Apple TV or Google Chromecast.

One thing to note is that Plex is a little picky about how you organize and name your media collection, particularly TV shows that run across multiple series. Get it right, however, and the service will run seamlessly. Our detailed guide to Plex will help you get started.

Like XBMC/Kodi, MediaPortal is open source and free, and has a full TiVo-style PVR built in for recording TV (through a TV card, of course). Hundreds of plugins and skins are available, and the app also supports streaming and recording of live radio.

These productivity killers were already non-standard on Windows 8 (and some versions of 7), but they definitely won't be shipping preinstalled on any version of Windows 10. In fact, if you upgrade from Windows 7, your preinstalled games will be "removed." But have no fear, procrastinator face! You can download official Microsoft versions of Solitaire and Minesweeper in Microsoft's App Store. And of course, PLENTY of third-party clones abound.

5. Floppy Drive Support

Instead of installing this version of Windows Media Center, you might first consider some alternatives. If you use WMC for watching and recording live over-the-air TV, the free NextPVR can be just as good when you follow our setup instructions. (On the downside, NextPVR can’t handle copy-once protected cable content.)
